Take the Lead offers a wide variety of services! A full description of each service can be found below.

Meet & Greet

 

In-home consultation in which we come to the client’s home to meet the pets and discuss details such as location of food and other pertinent items, routines of pets, personality quirks, walk routes, medication requirements, etc. A Meet & Greet is required before any services are performed but is free of charge. It can be scheduled based on the client’s availability and preference. Meet & Greets are typically scheduled for 30 minutes.

Dog Walk (30 & 60 minutes)

 

Includes a leashed walk in the area around the client’s home/neighborhood for the length of time selected. Routes are normally determined by the client’s normal routine or by client’s suggestion. Dog waste will be collected and disposed of properly. The water bowl will be checked and refilled as necessary. If applicable, client’s trash cans and/or packages will be brought in. An update will be sent following the walk which includes an image of the route, mileage and length. We usually operate on a "quality over quantity" mentality, allowing the dogs to go at their own pace and enjoy sniffing as they wish. After all, the mental stimulation of sniffing can be more tiring than the actual physical exercise!

Check-in Visit (30 & 60 minutes)

 

Includes a bathroom break in the pet's yard and outside/inside free play. Includes a meal feeding and medication administration if applicable. The water bowl will be checked and refilled as necessary. If applicable, client’s trash cans and/or packages will be brought in. An update will be sent following the visit. And of course, the pets will receive a lot of love and socialization during the visit.

Dog Hike (60 & 120 minutes)

 

Includes safe and secure transportation to and from client's home to the hiking location. The dog(s) are walked on a 15-ft leash to allow for exploring and swimming. Hike includes a thorough clean-up (no one wants a messy dog coming home). A update will be sent following the hike that includes an image of the hike route, mileage and time. We try to personalize the hikes based on the dog's interests as some dogs prefer to swim, others just like to wade in a creek, others avoid the water and just want to take in all the smells of the various wildlife.

Overnights (12 hours, typically 7pm-7am)

 

Includes a Pet Caretaker staying overnight at the client’s home with the pets. Includes multiple bathroom breaks in the pet's yard and outside/inside free play. Includes meal feedings and medication administration if applicable. Pet’s water bowl will be checked and refilled as necessary. If applicable, client’s trash cans and/or mail/packages will be brought in. A update will be sent in the evening after arriving and in the morning before leaving. And of course, the pet(s) will receive a lot of love and socialization during the sleepover!

 

*Please note that overnight services are in high demand so please book well in advance! Additionally at this point in time we are providing overnight services for current clients. If you're not a current client but interested in our overnight services, we can always provide services leading up to the overnights to establish a rapport.

Special Events Package (3, 4 & 5 hours)

 

Want your pets to be a part of your special event (including weddings, graduation parties, birthday parties, etc.), but don’t want to have to worry about taking care of them? That’s where we step in! The special events package includes safe and secure transportation to and from event location. We will be responsible for making sure the pets are in the requested areas at the requested time and will watch/take care of them the entire time. Includes meal feedings and medication administration if applicable. Pet’s water bowl will be checked and refilled as necessary. Pets will be let outside to go to the bathroom as needed, and pet waste will be collected and disposed of properly. We take a lot of pictures from the pet's point of view so you can have additional special moments captured!

 

*Please note that we are very flexible when it comes to special events! For example, if your dog is part of your wedding, we can help make sure they stay clean and “get dressed” at the appropriate time. We can walk them beforehand to try to wear them out, so they behave walking down the aisle. Need us to hide behind the scenes and grab the dog after they walk down the aisle? We can do it all! Best of all your special pet can be a part of your special event and you don’t need to stress about who is caring for them.

Farm Visit (between 60-90 minutes)

​

We care for many different types of farm animals including horses, pigs, chickens, ducks, goats, etc. Typically farm visits require detailed and meticulous care which we've found doesn't always take a specific amount of time. This service allows flexibility for us to take our time to complete all of the detailed tasks. This service also includes care for dogs and cats if you have them in addition to farm animals. These visits include all types of care - whether collecting eggs, feeding horses, cleaning goat houses, refilling water troughs, etc.
